Top 6 Actors you won’t admit you secretly love
We all have guilty pleasures...
Here is our top 6 picks:
Whether we are watching the King of Queens or one of his many performances in Adam Sandler-movies, this agile firecracker always wins us over in the end. All right, so he is never going to win any prestigious awards, but he is one of the best when it comes to portraying slightly socially awkward average Joe’s, who we all ultimately root for. Although we would never admit to it in public, we do enjoy watching Paul Blart: Mall Cop on a rainy Monday, when we need a good old-fashioned pick-me-up.
Best movies: Here Comes the Boom (2012) - Hitch (2005) - Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009)
Avoid this one: I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry (2007)
5. and 4.
Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn
These guys are like peanut butter and jelly. Apart, they are all right, but when you put them together something magical happens. There is something that just WORKS about pairing Vinces’ slick and fast-talking persona with Wilson’s relaxed southern drawl. Waaaauuuw. If you are in the mood for a nice bit of escapism in the form of a comedy, you cannot go wrong with their movies in general. If you want to laugh until your butt falls off though, you need to watch them team up.
Best Movies: Wedding Crashers (2005) -The Internship (2013)
Avoid this one: Starsky And Hutch (2004)
Well, this one might be slightly controversial. She does have two Academy Award nominations to her name after all (for Bridesmaids and Can you ever forgive me?), and she is absolutely a fine actor. But still, mentioning her name won’t make you president of the Fine Films Club at work. Her characters are often loud and obnoxious, until they aren’t - as she can transition into dramatic and poignant moments in a heartbeat. And we love her for it.
Best movies: Spy (2015) - Bridesmaids (2011)-The Heat 2013).
Avoid this one: Tammy (2014)
This guy has been everyones guilty pleasure for decades. Just ask your mom. He is the quintessential British man, and even though he only plays that one role ever, we never really tire of watching it. If you are sitting there thinking “ I probably don’t like him. I don’t watch rom-coms.” We just have two words for you: Love Actually. We dare you to sit down come December and watch that modern classic without feeling the world is a better place afterwards.
Best movies: Love Actually(2003) - Music and Lyrics(2007) - Notting Hill (1999)
Avoid this one: Did You Hear about the Morgans? (2009)
The man, the myth and the meme. We have yet to watch one of his movies without feeling highly entertained. This man makes huuuuge acting choices, and he does not care what you think. He might be the hardest working man in Hollywood, usually putting out five or six movies a year. Are they all good? Absolutely not, but many of them are a lot of fun. After winning an Oscar in 1996 for Leaving Las Vegas, one would have expected him to cherry-pick his projects with care. But good old Nic likes to keep us guessing. There is no telling what he will do next, but it could be time for this legend to make a proper comeback in a big budget movie. If you ask us, we would not mind seeing him return to the National Treasure franchise for a third installment. But whatever he decides to do, it is going to be hard to not watch.
Best movies: National Treasure franchise (2004/2007) Kick Ass (2010) - Leaving Las Vegas(1996) - Con Air (1997).
Avoid this one: None. Of course we haven’t seen them all as that’s physically impossible, but if Nic Cage is in it, it is going to be entertaining.
