The Cheap Gems of this Seasons Fantasy League

Follow our Fantasy Premier League let’s play. (https://fantasy.premierleague.com/)

Money is usually pretty tight when picking

your fantasy football team, so any funds that can be released by acquiring a cheap player is very welcome indeed. The 2019/20 Premier League is only days away, so we’ve had a look at some absolute bargains where you could earn a lot of points compared to the players' value.

Goalkeeper: Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester) 5.0m

Schmeichel was actually pretty good last season. He only let in 48 goals, which left Leicester tied for 7th place when in the goals conceded statistic. he didn’t get as large a point haul as someone like Pickford (Everton) though, mainly because Leicester didn’t manage to pull off as many clean sheets. He and Leicester have been quite stable in their last three seasons giving away 48, 47 and 47 goals respectively with 10, 8 and 8 clean sheets. With Brendan Rodgers as manager, you know that their defense is gonna be solid, so perhaps they can do even better this year. Their first 8 games or so doesn’t look that appealing though, but perhaps this could be a good transfer at around GW 9.

Defender: Adam Smith (Bournemouth) 4.5m

Adam Smiths admittedly didn’t bring in that many points last season, which was in part due to the fact that he was injured for 2 months. He’s a really good, young offensive back. Quick as a whistle, and bound to give the opponents some real headaches with his raids up and down the flanks. At 4.5m, and with Bournemouths early schedule in consideration, he’s definitely gonna be on my team, when the league starts.

Midfielder: Kevin De Bruyne (Man City) 9.5

De Bruyne had his whole last season corrupted by injuries, and his price tag has also taken a 0.5m beating because of it, but you need to remember that he was absolutely crushing it the previous two consecutive seasons with around 200 points. It’s a bit of a risk of course, because you don’t know which way it’ll go, but he is definitely a player to keep an eye on.

Attacker: Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) 6.0

Getting more and more regular in the starting lineup over the course of last season, Calvert-Lewin could be a good option if you have spend all your cash parking the bus, and you now find yourself in need of a cheap striker. But then again, I’ve been fooled before by Calvert-Lewin. I keep hoping he’s gonna fulfill some of that raw talent, and perhaps this could be the season he finally ceases to let me down. But as I said, it’s not the first time, I’ve thought so.
