Last week: Fortunately, we had Salah (Liverpool) as our captain in the last round. Unfortunately for us, so did everybody else it seems. Our transfer, Rashford (Man Utd), scored a goal and got 3 bonus points, but then again, 2,2 million players had Rashford, so it didn’t really put us in front. We scored 68 points which were above average, and we even jumped up some places. At the end of the day, this weeks wasn’t bad. Let’s focus on how we are going to prioritize going forward. Here are our top recommendations for game week 24:
Keeper - McCarthy (Southampton) 4.4m
Admitted, this is a pretty risky pick. Southampton has let in 40 goals already this season, with only 4 teams conceding more goals. The program for the Saints, however, in the next 3 matches puts them against Crystal Palace (H), Burnley (A) and Cardiff (H), and they have in fact managed 5 clean sheets this season. More than both Arsenal and Man Utd.
Defender - Valery (Southampton) 4.0m
For all the same reasons as with the keeper, you should definitely look at Southampton for a good defensive transfer deal. With a defensive line including wing-backs, there should be some great picks available. The only question seems to be: Who will play? Valery and Targett seem to be favored by Hasenhüttl right now, but Targett received a knock in the last game, so Cedric could play instead.
Midfielder - Pogba (Man Utd) 8.7m
Burnley has not been faring very well against the top 6 clubs when playing away, and with Man Utd’s current form in mind, you should find your pick of a midfielder her. Pogba has really been extraordinary since the arrival of Solskjær, so if you can afford him, he is going to earn you lots of points.
Attacker - Mitrovic (Fulham) 6.5m
If you, like many others, already got rid of Mitrovic, I don’t blame you. At first, it seems like horrible advice to get him, but let’s see if I can change your mind. Even though he has only scored once in the last 10 games, his overall performance has been improving in the last matches, two of which was against Arsenal and Spurs. He has recently been wearing the captain armband, with the usual choice Tom Cairney in the subs. I believe this could be a turnaround period for him.
Player to Avoid - Fraser (Bournemouth)
Bournemouth is entering a very tough schedule, and while Fraser and the rest of the team outperformed all others at the beginning of the season, their form has begun to decay dramatically, and Fraser is going down with the ship. He’s scored only 3.5 points on average in the last 8 matches, and that number is only so high, because of one good game worth 12 points.
Our team and Transfers:
Mitrovic is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League, and we believe he will be good for 10–15 goals this season. With 8 goals at the moment, there must be some points coming with him on the team. We’re only using one sub, even though Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) is injuried. According to Klopp they’re assessing the injury day to day, so hopefully he’ll play Wednesday, otherwise, we hope our subs will step up.
